Valerie Patrice Ivey was born October 13, 1967. Valerie was known for enjoying food, friends and traveling. She lived everyday looking for ways to enjoy life. She was studious with self-development by reading her bible, daily devotions and taking professional courses. Listening to music was her passion!
Valerie was a loving and devoted Auntie. She was a true fashionista and generously shared her belongings with family and friends. She was always focused on her professional assignments and her assignments from God. She strongly believed in God and uplifted Him for all He had done in her life, even during her time of illness.
Valerie transitioned on July 17, 2019, 6 weeks of being diagnosed with Gallbladder Cancer. She was in hospice care during her last week of life on earth. She was constantly surrounded by immediate family, music, pictures and dressed in her favorite outfits. Her last statement to her sister was reminding her that Jesus was waiting on her. She said, “Tea, everything is good. Should God allow me to send a reminder, remember me and this experience when you see a butterfly nearby.”
